The Department of Consumer Affairs in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, is the nodal Department in the Central Government to deal with the various matters related to the protection and welfare of the consumers in the country. The objectives of the scheme are to educate children about the rights of the consumers as provided in the Consumer Protection Act, 1986; A Consumer Club shall be set up in a middle/high/higher secondary school which is affiliated to a Government recognized Board and shall consist of a minimum 50 members. A group of not less than 20 and not more than 50 Consumer Clubs, in one or more geographically contiguous districts, will be serviced by a Coordinating Agency. The Department of Consumer Affairs shall provide financial support @ Rs.10,000/- per annum per Consumer Club to the Coordinating Agency from the Consumer Welfare Fund. A maximum of 20% of this amount will be retained by the Coordinating Agency for meeting its expenses relating to the consumer Clubs being serviced by it. The balance amount will be passed on to each Consumer Club. The Coordinating Agency will regularly monitor the expenditure incurred by each Club. The best 3 Consumer Clubs in each cluster for Consumer Club coordinated by one Agency shall be awarded cash prizes amounting to Rs.3,000/- Rs.2,000/- and Rs.1,000/- respectively for First, Second third best clubs. In our College also we have ‘Citizen Consumer Club’, which is organizing functions, such as awareness programme, Essay competitions, Marketing and consumer quiz. Debates and Drama for student every year. So that the entire awareness on citizen consumer programme is created and spreaded among various class of people and among students of schools and colleges.


  • In the last 6years onwards, our Anbu Arts & Science College had conducted NSS programme. The main theme of our programme is “Healthy Youth for Healthy India”
  • In the last year we conducted a programme for days from (08.02.12 to 14.02.12) in the area of Katheri, Samiyampalayam.
  • We sent our student S.Jothibasu & Deepika Sarojini as a nominee for the Republic day parade camp 2011-2012.
  • We conducted a lot of awareness programme among the student like “developing their Managing skills, Mingling with society to develop a good relationship with the public.
  • With the help of supreme Lions blood bank, we conducted a blood donation camp on 20.12.2011.
  • With the help of Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital, we had conducted a free Eye checkup camp for 2 days on 12-07-11 and 13-07-11
  • Through the NSS Programme our students done many social work like cleaning the school and temples for creating a awareness to protect our environment as a clear one.

In organization with Tamilnadu state Aids control Society (TANSACS), the RED Ribbon Club (RRC) is an under organization of Government of Tamilnadu and TANSACS to create awareness on HIV/AIDS particularly among the people.

It is also organizing functions, programmes and training for the concerned officials in the colleges affiliated by the universities of Tamilnadu, by which students, public and even the patients of HIV/AIDS positive can know about the intension of ‘Red Ribbon Club’ as well as can spread awareness on such things.

In our college also we have ‘Red Ribbon Club’ which is organizing functions such as training programmes, hospital and NCTC visitings, blood donation camps, signature campaigns, rallies on HIV/AIDS awareness, Marathon races and competitions for students every year. so that the entire awareness on HIV/AIDS is created and spreaded among various class of people and students of schools and colleges.


  • Every year we are conducting blood donation camp with Lions Club of Erode supreme charitable trust in our campus.
  • Medical camp like Eye, Dental, Asthma, Diabetics had been conducting every year.
  • Awareness and orientation programme was also conducting for our students.
  • Our students had participated many competitions like the District level elocution competitions conducted at Thiruvalluvar Govt. Arts College, Rasipuram on 5th August 2011. Our students had won the prizes in this competition also.
  • One day district level orientation programme was conducted by Indian Red Cross Society for volunteers of Namakkal District’s Arts and Science Colleges on 8th Feb’13 at Thiruvalluvar Govt. Arts College, Rasipuram. Our College Vounteers also Participated in this programme.
